Glossary

NOTE: Please understand that some of these are my own terminology and some are vernacular I've seen used frequently. All in all, this is the glossary of terms I've used through my website for your reference. If i'm missing any, please let me know!

Action Figure/BJD: These two terms are interchangable to me. These are art toys that have movable limbs. Usually the head, legs, elbows and knees.

Blind Box: The art toys are put inside a box, where you don't know what is inside it. Thus, making it blind.
‍
Chase: These are people's most sought after item. They are "chasing" it, thus the term chase.
‍
Collaboration: An external partner worked on the design.
‍
Confirmed: When you are buying through resellers. They will often put "confirmed" as to let you know the figurine/vinyl plush is what they said it is. They have confirmed it either through opening it, or through other methods.
‍
Exclusive: There are restrictions on where it was available.
‍
Featured: For example, SKULLPANDA is not the main character of the collection and there are multiple other characters within it.
‍
Limited: There is a specific quantity.
‍
MEGA: Denotes a large size version of the figurine. You will see 1000% or 400%, meaning that how much bigger they are than a regular figurine:

Original: An artist's own original work.

One-Off: Only one was created.
‍
POP BEAN: This is a tiny versions of figurines. Usually 2 - 3 cm high.
‍
Pre-Order: A familiar term. Where you can order before release. Often groups would offer this to reduce cost, and you can get the figurine you want.
‍
Secret: The rarest figurine/vinyl plush in a figurine.
‍
Series: There is roughly more than 5 figurines in the collection.
‍
Set: Less than 5 Figurines in the collection.
‍
Standalone: Not part of a set, or series. Only one.
‍
Variant: Sometimes they release variants of a figurine or vinyl plush in a different color.
‍
Vinyl Plush: A soft plush body, but with a vinyl face.
